Meet The Band

Four Wall Flight took off in 2005 after some friends on the church worship team decided to take their own original music outside the church’s four walls.  Originally under the name “Amplified,” the band released a demo in 2008.

After several years of ministering in local churches, the band got the opportunity to record their music at Square One Studios in Nashville in 2010 – an amazing chance to reach even more people with the message of hope and faith in Jesus Christ.

Four Wall Flight would love to connect with churches and individuals who are looking for a way to bring the message of Christ in a fresh and honest way to your community.  If you are in the Central Illinois area, please contact Gretchen at (217) 413-7033 for bookings or pass along this contact information.

Gretchen

Gretchen has been drumming since the age of 15 after being inspired by the Karen Carpenter Story on television (Hold the laughter – that is NO JOKE!) She grew up in a home that was always buzzing with music from her father’s basement recording studio. Band was a given once she hit junior high and after graduating high school she went on to get her degree in music business at Millikin University as a percussion major. Gretchen has been playing drums in church ever since she first picked up the sticks.

When she’s not playing drums, Gretchen keeps busy with web programming and with her inspirational website GirlsCantWhat?. She is married to Doug and they have two daughters (and one dog).

Kelli

Kelli didn’t really start singing until age 10 when she was inspired by the extremely pop musical stylings of bands such as “WHAM!” and “Culture Club.” She joined the middle school swing choir and sang “We Are the World” with bravery and passion. (Okay, she was a nervous wreck, but she sang it anyway.) From then on, she involved herself in many musical adventures, both instrumentally and vocally, from pop to jazz.  During high school, she performed with her vocal jazz quartet at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and the North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands.

Since that time, she has been active in leading worship in church and enjoys writing and singing music that speaks to the human condition.

Kelli and her husband, Joe, have three children. Her day job is divided between pro-life work and homeschooling.

Trina

Trina (a.k.a. Katrina) has loved music her whole life. At the age of 7 she could be seen dancing and singing around the house to the Phantom Of The Opera soundtrack.  She joined her first choir at age 9 and was hooked. From then on she could be found in every choir, school musical, solo opportunity and a cappella group she could find. Throughout high school she was heavily involved in musical theatre as well as her youth group worship team, and during college she joined another worship team where she first collaborated with Gretchen and Kelli.

Trina loves the power that music has to encourage, correct, uplift, and touch the hearts of God’s people, giving glory to Him.  She loves to praise Him and is humbled that He would use her.

When not ministering with the band, Trina can be found creating masterpieces in graphic design or spending time with her friends and her three sisters.

Bryan

Bryan, FWF’s touring guitarist, picked up a guitar at age 15 and started playing it in the church about 2 weeks later! He has seen, heard and felt how God can take music and reach someone’s soul with it and, because of it, he will continue to play for God as long as his fingers move. Over the years, this commitment has led him to play in reserved Sunday morning services,  unruly festival crowds, and even a number of Jr. High lock-ins *shudder*. He’s played 4, 6, and 12 strings, but the one constant has been a desire to see God reveal His Love to people through music.

Bryan’s most important job is being a daddy to his infant son and husband to his wife of 11 years, Brandy.  He has been known to play swirling, whammy bar-filled arrays of 80′s music without prior warning and can occasionally be found on local tennis courts getting schooled by the ball machine or a real person (he believes in equal opportunity).

Kent

Kent, FWF’s touring keyboardist, joined the band for a few past performances but now adds his years of piano and keyboard worship expertise to the band on a “grander” scale.  He is husband to wife of 17 years, Sandy, and father to their 5 children.
